  3. Emancipating the Artist

    Are you into Art? Music? Multimedia? Looking for ways to build your audience and reputation locally and far-reaching? Andover Cultural Council Chair Demetrius Spaneas will present a talk to artists of all genres. As arts funding becomes less available, artists must find new oceans to navigate to produce projects and get in front of audiences. Mr. Spaneas will discuss his methods of production and brainstorm with participants on their projects. Mr. Spaneas is an international award-winning composer/performer who has produced concerts, festivals, collaborative expositions, and cultural diplomacy projects in 16 countries on three continents. He’s shared the stage with greats like Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, and the Funk Brothers; was the Con Edison/Exploring the Metropolis Resident Composer of New York City; and, has been artist-in-residence for numerous international festivals and cultural and academic institutions.   3. TRIAD Program

    Triad is a joint collaboration between The Senior Center at Punchard, Andover Police Department, Essex County District Attorney’s Office, and the Essex County Sheriff’s Department. It is designed to enhance the delivery of law enforcement services to older persons through crime prevention and education programs. The TRIAD group is seeking volunteers to assist with identifying, developing, and initiating programming.
