All Andover Fire Rescue Training is coordinated through Deputy Chief Al DelDotto who takes on the Training Officer role in addition to being the Shift Commander for Unit #3.

The Training Division is responsible for the coordination, scheduling and implementation of all Fire Rescue and Emergency Medical Services mandated training requirements annually.  The mandated training meets or exceeds the requirements established by the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy, the Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medical Services, and the Insurance Services Office.
All training conducted within the organization regardless of whether it is delivered by internal instructors or external vendors meets or exceeds all National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards on firefighting training.

Andover Fire Rescue relies heavily upon the personnel and equipment resources that are available through the Massachusetts Division of Fire Services (DFS) and the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy in an effort to maintain the necessary skill sets of our personnel.
