Purpose

The Trustees of Cornell Fund administer the funds for the John Cornell Fuel Assistance Fund which was established in 1893 to be used for the needy and poor to purchase wood or coal. In 1995 the trust documents were modified by the Probate court of Massachusetts to permit the use of all types of fuel for heating, cooking or electrical purposes.
