The Town has an opportunity to enhance the vitality and mobility of the historic Shawsheen Village. The project focuses on Route 133 (Lowell Street) which is a major arterial route running through the heart of a dynamic, growing area of the Merrimack Valley. Not only will this improve mobility along the corridor, it will provide an opportunity to re-imagine Shawsheen Village. There are many natural and historic resources that are unique to Shawsheen and this project aims to uncover and highlight them to revitalize an important area in our community.
The images below depict a concept developed by The Engineering Corp. (TEC), the engineering firm hired to assist the Town with this project. We look forward to engaging the public in discussions regarding the opportunities that this project presents and will use this concept as a prompt for our community conversation in the coming months.
